ECHO is closed for referral (from 26th June 2020)
ECHO (Emergency Central Heating Offer) is a scheme that offers emergency assistance to vulnerable households to repair or replace broken or condemned boilers. This is a scheme available to residents living in privately owned homes Northamptonshire who are in a ‘no heat’ situation.
To qualify a person living in the home can either be;
1. ECO – in receipt of Help to Heat ECO qualifying benefits (check ECO list with Ofgem)
2. ECO FLEX – low income & vulnerable to cold via our Northants Warm Homes ECO Flex eligibility (check here for low income threshold).
Over winter a lack of heating and hot water can have a severe impact on the health and wellbeing of those most affected by the cold.
ECHO is provided by AgilityEco along with its partners and funded by five energy companies through the Warm Home Discount Industry Initiative Scheme. ECHO is delivered in collaboration with local agencies providing support to fuel poor or vulnerable residents. This scheme is operating whilst funding is still available (so subject to change).
If you are, or you know anyone in a ‘no heat situation’ due to a broken boiler and may qualify contact Care and Repair Northamptonshire by email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note – where an ECO Flex is a qualifying factor (option number 2 above) you will need to complete an ECO Flex declaration form from your local authority. Please contact your local authority to request an ECO Flex declaration form. Contact details for your local authority is found here.
