Big Energy Saving Week, which runs from 22 October to 27 October 2012, is a national campaign run by the Energy Saving Trust and Citizens Advice Bureau to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to.

Northampton Borough Council is holding drop-in sessions from 10am to 4pm from Monday, in the One Stop Shop at the Guildhall and the Community Law Service is holding drop-in sessions from 10am to 3pm Monday to Thursday and 10am to 1pm on Friday at their St Giles Street shop.

Energy advisers will be available to check if residents are getting the best deal from their energy company on a comparison website and explain how they might be able to save more money by possibly switching suppliers or changing the way they pay. Plus they’ll also be giving energy saving tips, giving away small energy saving devices and talking about help available to insulate resident’s homes.

East Northamptonshire Council and Citizens Advice are jointly hosting a stall between 12 and 2pm on Thursday 25th October at the Asda store in Rushden.  They’ll be giving away low energy light bulbs and TV powerdowns and there will be a chance to win an energy monitor.
